Child Therapy
Being a child is filled with both joys and challenges. Children can have a carefree spirit that allows them to explore the world with wonder and excitement. They find joy in the simplest things. However, being a child can also be difficult as they learn how to navigate the world. There are so many things for children to maneuver; responding to peer pressure, struggle with school work, navigating difficult family dynamics and much more. Each situation can bring up unexpected emotions and difficulty thoughts and decisions. Despite the challenges, being a child is a special time in life that should be cherished. It is my belief that every child should feel safe to explore their reactions, emotions and thoughts in order to help them process and navigate through difficult times.
Over the past decade I have been working with children through a variety of different therapeutic modalities. Young children rarely have the verbal ability to process complex topics they are only starting to understand. Social emotional development is a journey through many stages, each one having its unique challenges. My goal is to provide multiple avenues for children to explore their challenges such as; play therapy, sand tray, art therapy, behavior therapy, exposure and response prevention, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy.
